Presentation
The Gender and Science Database (GSD) is a specialised bibliographical database on gender and science with more than 4,500 bibliographical references dealing with gender horizontal and vertical segregation in scientific careers as well as the underlying causes and effects of these two processes. It includes:
» An informed bibliography of the most relevant scientific publications on gender and science published in the 27 EU Member States and the 6 Associated Countries to the 7th Framework Programme (Norway, Iceland, Israel, Switzerland, Turkey, and Croatia) from 1980 to 2008.
» A bibliographical tool for consultation of this informed bibliography with a variety of search functions. Selection of entries and statistics about the number of entries are based on either a categorisation system (codified information) or a free search engine.
The selection of the publications has been carried out by national experts on gender and science from each of the 33 countries involved
in the study (social science correspondents).
